Sustainability
We care about environmental sustainability. At Hastings Laminate and Stone we try to minimise our environmental impact as much as possible so all water from our CNC Bridge Saw is recycled. We also recycle cardboard, plastic and wood; and the off cuts from our stone tops are recycled into ground material to be used for roading purposes.
Warranty’s
All products we offer come with robust warranties meaning you can purchase with confidence. Copies of warranties are available on request.
Care of Your Stone
For all stone surfaces, be it man made or natural, we recommend always starting your cleaning regime with a clean, wet cloth and mild liquid dish detergent. Gently buff dry with a clean, soft micro-fibre cloth. Avoid using harsh or abrasive scourers or cleaning products.
Please take care of your precious stone:
- Heavy items can chip the edges of your stone Benchtops, if bumped on them. Take special care around the sink, hob and dishwasher area, which are prone to movement over edges of stone.
- Your natural stone benchtops are prone to scratching if items are dragged across the surface. Lift and place items gently to best care for your stone.
NATURAL STONE – GRANITE AND MARBLE
- Natural Stone is porous, even when sealed, so needs to be treated with a more care, during and after use than the manmade stone options.
- Make sure you blot up spills immediately, to avoid absorption of the spill into the stone.
- Use a clean soft wet cloth with mild liquid dishwashing soap to remove spills. Rinse the surface thoroughly with water and gently buff dry with a soft microfiber cloth.
- Don’t use vinegar, lemon juice or other cleaners containing acids.
- Don’t use metal scouring pads, abrasive powders or creams, as these may scratch the surface. Use only ‘Stone Safe’ cleaners, if you wish to use more than mild liquid dish soap.
- Avoid prolonged rubbing in one spot. This could change the appearance of the surface of your stone.
ENGINEERED STONE
- Engineered Stone is a relatively easy-care surface. It’s extremely low moisture absorption greatly reduces potential for stains and bacterial growth.
- For ultimate ease of care, we highly recommend you choose one of the glossy finishes.
Honed Engineered Stone will require more daily maintenance than polished surfaces to keep that ‘Showroom Appearance’. - For daily maintenance, we recommend wiping the surface with warm soapy water (a mild detergent) and a clean damp cloth, then gently buffing dry with a soft microfiber cloth.
- We also recommend Spray and Wipe type products approved for Stone Surfaces for more of a deep clean when necessary.
- Avoid using abrasive, or metal scouring pads, or harsher cleaners.
- Avoid prolonged rubbing in one spot. This could change the appearance of the surface of your stone.

- They are non-porous and highly resistant to staining from day-to-day use. Even tough stains such as wine, coffee, ink and rust can be easily cleaned, if dealt with straight away.
- We recommend you always start with a clean wet cloth and mild dish detergent when cleaning this surface.
- For more stubborn stains, on these Ceramic surfaces, it is acceptable to use a mild chemical cleanser with plenty of water.
Please take care of your new Ceramic Surfaces:

ACRYLIC
- Acrylic surfaces are easy to clean and keep nice when you look after it.
- Acrylic will show scratches and marks, particularly the darker colours. This is normal. If at any time you decide you would like to bring back the New appearance, your Acrylic Surface can be re-sanded and buffed (at additional cost). To enquire about this service, please Contact Us.
- To prevent unsightly scratches, always use a cutting board. Never cut directly on the Acrylic surface and lift and place items gently rather than dragging them across the surface.
- Always protect your Acrylic Benchtop from Heat.
- Don’t put hot pots, pans, dishes, boiling water or anything hot directly onto your Acrylic Surface. Always use a protective board or trivet.
- Acrylic Benchtops are highly Stain Resistant, but it is recommended that all spills are wiped up promptly with a clean damp soft cloth, to avoid stubborn stains.
- If stubborn stains do occur please refer to the manufacturers Care Instructions.
- It is ideal not to use harsh chemicals on your Acrylic benchtops. These may cause damage to the surface.
